Wedding Bells...

Even though my blog banner and website say "Brooke Boynton Hughes", the "Hughes" part won't be official until May 8th. Here's the design I did for our save-the-date card. Its sort of strange to take on a new name after having been just Brooke Boynton for the last 30 years. But I can't wait to be Mrs. Hughes. :)

To find some inspiration for the save-the-date design I decided to take a cue from my ancestors. I googled photos of traditional Norwegian wedding clothes. I love the exciting head dress veils that the brides wear, and their lovely corsages, and of course their always stoic expressions.

  4. Lovely! Old family pictures from that era are so fun. My great-grandma came from Norway to be married in 1910; the dress she brought over is still in the family and a couple of my cousins have worn it for their weddings. Congratulations!
