Wedding Bells...
Even though my blog banner and website say "Brooke Boynton Hughes", the "Hughes" part won't be official until May 8th. Here's the design I did for our save-the-date card. Its sort of strange to take on a new name after having been just Brooke Boynton for the last 30 years. But I can't wait to be Mrs. Hughes. :)
To find some inspiration for the save-the-date design I decided to take a cue from my ancestors. I googled photos of traditional Norwegian wedding clothes. I love the exciting head dress veils that the brides wear, and their lovely corsages, and of course their always stoic expressions.

ReplyDeleteOhmygoodness, congratulations!! and I love the illustrated save the date card! :D!!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Old family pictures from that era are so fun. My great-grandma came from Norway to be married in 1910; the dress she brought over is still in the family and a couple of my cousins have worn it for their weddings. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

It was such an interesting post. We had a grand wedding recently at some outdoor NYC wedding venues. My sister is a wedding planner and she planned everything with utmost perfection. Loved the way it turned out to be.
