Giveaway!

Many, many weeks ago I mentioned that I would soon be adding lots of items to my Etsy shop. "Soon" turned out to be not so soon at all. But, I'm happy to say that my Etsy shop now has several new illustrations, as well as a set of notecards for sale. Click here to take a peek.

Also, as a means of saying thank you for visiting my blog, I'm hosting a giveaway! To enter, be a public follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post. (Any kind of comment will do, but I'd like to suggest that you mention one of your favorite things about the holiday season. Its easy to get to feeling bogged down and stressed out during this time of year, so maybe it would be good to take a moment to remember the wonderful things about the holidays.) I'll put the names in a hat and on Wednesday, December 7th, I'll choose a grand prize winner, as well as two runners up.

The Grand Prize is a set of 6 Winter Birds notecards, as well as the choice of any one item from my Etsy shop. The two runners up will receive a copy of my 5" x 7" Red Jacket illustration.

I'll also be sending a set of Winter Birds notecards to Maria Bogade, who suggested that the little birdies would make a nice card design.

I hope that you're all enjoying the winter season. Thank you for visiting my blog!

  1. Oh how lovely, I'm quite fond of that bird design- I'll have to check out the rest of the shop :) Well one of my favourite things about the holiday season would be catching up with relatives who I don't get to see very often... and also having an excuse to make/ pig out on gingerbread! :D

  2. Wow! What a lovely giveaway!
There are many things I love about this festive season...I love the food, the music and watching christmas films with my family. I also love the hats you get in crackers... it's just nice to get together with the family and relax :)

  3. It may sound a bit macabre but i lost my father a year ago so one of the things i'm looking forward to this christmas is spending quality time with my mum, giving her pretty things to make her smile and have a jolly good laugh remembering all the funny times dad brought to our lives, watch some classic comedy with cats on our laps and stuff our faces :)

  4. Exchanging Christmas cards and letters through snail mail is one of my favorite things about the holidays. It's become so rare to receive personal messages via the US Postal Service, but at Christmas there's suddenly a bonanza!

  5. Wow these are SO CUTE! I absolutely love them! I love your work :) My favorite thing is also the hardest thing sometimes for our family. We wrap up the television in wrapping paper and then make it a point to do more special things as a family during the Christmas season. It's wonderful, but it can definitely be hard because the little ones and I have to find other ways to get that "down time." But it's so much fun and I know my kids will cherish it as adults! Great illustrations :)

  6. What a fun idea :) I am really fond of the sweet little rosy-cheeked characters in your paintings. My favorite things about the holiday season are the smell of pine, singing Christmas carols unabashedly, candles, fudge, peppermint chocolate, fireplaces, family, and last but not least, a few days off work to remember the important things in life.

Hmm... Favorite thing about this time of year: Shiny Brite ornaments, peppermint mochas and the Rat Pack's Christmas album. And of course friends, family and a spirit of goodwill.

  10. Oh my goodness...I LOVE your work, Brooke, and oh for a chance to win..you are so kind!

For me, I must say, the smell of a gingerbread loaf baking makes the holidays warm for me. And the quiet solitude of a drive home on a winter's night (minus the traffic)..to see the wintery feeling all around and animals with their winter coats..I am filled up with natures blessings and then happy to arrive to a warm house.

I am wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

  15. My favourite thing is knowing I'll have the time to spend with all my family and friends without having to rush here and there and work getting in the way. A proper time to relax and enjoy with the ones I love :)

PS. It's my birthday today - I think it's birthday luck that made me stumble upon your blog!

  16. I love making paper snowflakes. I make some every year to go on windows, the tree, and anywhere else I figure isn't looking festive enough! Last year, I wrote a tutorial on how to make lacy ones: http://allison.gryski.com/2010/12/lacy-paper-snowflake-tutorial-and.html
