  1. Aw, I wonder what she's being separated from? It's really intriguing that you didn't show us. Sweet illustration.

  3. Always sad to leave people behind... But I hope she's off to new adventures :) Nice expression... funny how I can feel a whole story behind this one little scene. Really good work.

  4. Really nice Brooke! I love the emotion, and the way it feels as if we're sneaking a peek into her life.

  6. Why do you draw so many Black people? Are you trying to prove you are 'diverse'? I just don't get it. The industry could use more Black illustrators and it's like a slap in the face to actual Black people who are trying to get their own books published. Black writers and illustrators are only chosen if they make historical or social books that are serious. They hardly ever get to make fun, positive, silly or animal books. And here you are making Black characters to add obligatory diversity. It just confuses me. It's like all the White people who study Afro-American history and get fellowships to Harvard while plenty of actual Black people can barely afford the fees to take the GRE.
