A Thank You Giveaway!
Usually I'm not big on New Year's resolutions, but this year I have several. I've made the usual ones like eat more veggies, floss more often, and keep my studio better organized. And I've also made several that have to do with hopes and dreams and goals and things like that.
One of my resolutions is to do a better job of showing you how much I appreciate that you take the time to visit my blog. It always makes me a little nervous to put up a new blog post. I'm sort of a quiet, private sort of gal, and sometimes posting a little snippet of my life makes me feel just a tiny bit vulnerable. So, when you take the time to peruse my blog and even leave a comment, I really really really appreciate it.
And so, to better show my appreciation I'm going to do two things...
The first is that I'm going to try to be better about responding to your comments. I'll respond to your questions and remarks in the same comment thread where you left them, so please check back.
And the second is that I'm hosting a GIVEAWAY!! Hooray! One winner will receive everything pictured above...
2 8x10" prints
3 5x7" prints
6 note cards (3 of which are valentines)
1 something secret (not pictured)
TO ENTER: Please leave a comment under this post (Maybe you'd like to mention one of your New Year's resolutions?). Or you can enter by sending me a tweet, @BrookeBHughes, with a link to this post...

and the hashtag, #NameInTheHat. If you leave a comment AND send me a tweet, you'll be entered twice! Huzzah!!
The giveaway will be open until the end of the day (midnight, Mountain Standard Time) next Wednesday (the 16th).
Thank you again for visiting my blog and good luck!! :)
*Entry is now closed and I'll announce the winner soon*

ReplyDeleteWonderful work and such an amazing giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOne of my resolutions is to paint and illustrate more.
These are lovely, Brooke! Me want~! :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteThose prints would look perfect in my silly monkey's room, and those cards would be perfect for one of my resolutions, to stay more in touch with friends - what a fun giveaway Brooke! ~Ule
ReplyDeleteWOWEE!! Now that's what I call a giveaway! I LOVE your art and I am so glad I recently discovered it. :)
ReplyDeleteBrooke, you have a wonderful heart and I hear ya..I'm a private person too but I simply just LOVE your posts. Keep 'em coming! : ) And what a generous giveaway..thank you for the chance!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest asked me to make a resolution - so I told her I would "eat more healthily"..she said it was boring, but a good one. Ahhh..from the mouths of babes. But another resolution for me is to "try new things (techniques, styles), etc..without worrying how the end result looks..and do MORE of it as much as possible.) I can't wait! : )
Happy New Year!!
What a great give away! Me want too! :)
ReplyDeleteSo amazing! You're one talented lady!
ReplyDeleteSuch generosity! My resolution this year is all about submitting work (PB dummies), no more excuses, enough nit-picking - just do it!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing giveaway! I would love it :-)
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to be more mindful of my health and to not let self-doubt get in the way.
Happy new years!
Such beautiful, beautiful work - it would be an honor to win! Every bit of it is so darling!

Huzzah! How exciting! I love your work. My resolutions include being more dedicated to learning about/working on illustration. Thanks for all your blog posts -- I know how you feel -- but I appreciate your courage to show your stuff because it is lovely. =)
ReplyDeleteLove your work and what a nice giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool giveaways! :D
ReplyDeleteI love to follow your blog. Your art is adorable <3
ReplyDeleteOne of my resolutions is to read more. I've just finished my first book of the year!
ReplyDeleteI don't usually do resolutions because when I have in the past I have been very bad at keeping them. I just try to be a better person than I was the day before.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Nice resolution. Mine is to talk less and listen more. I guess we've got opposite resolutions! :)
ReplyDeleteI came to your post via a friend, and I'm delighted by what I see. As for resolutions, I don't "do" resolutions any more, but I do pick a word, or theme for the year, and I try to use it as a filter for all that I do during the year (with varying levels of success, mind you). This year my theme is "purpose." I'd like to live more intentionally, with greater awareness, rather than on the automatic pilot that I seem to run on most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Brooke, you are as adorable as your work! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely giveaway! That little bunny in the striped suit on the card is officially the cutest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteAnd my New Year's resolution is to sew and read more. And do sit ups (but that's slightly less exciting).
I'm usually more of a lurker than a commenter but in this case, I had to pipe up because who wouldn't love this giveaway, right? As always, your work is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy resolution this is year is to stop being so darned hard on myself all the time!
Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy resolutions are to be more healthy and draw lots more :)
What an amazing giveaway! My resolution is to draw more just for fun, purely for myself.
ReplyDeleteHi from Finland! My resolution is to work with my posture :) I draw and do all kind of crafts a lot so I really need to pay attention to that. Thanks for the lovely giveaway and have a lovely day! - Jenni
ReplyDeleteWhat a spread! Throw my name in the hat, please :)
ReplyDeleteMy goal this year is to devote some time to honing my watercolor technique and to travel!
You are so sweet! What a fabulous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy new years resolution is to find my consistent, in my illustration, in my social networking time, in my blogging and with my family.
Happy New Years!
Psh, you have no reason to be shy, Miss Brooke! Your work is amazing! =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous and beautiful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy resolutions all revolve around my daughter, who is due in March -- she's my first baby and I am going to dedicate myself to being the best mom I can be for her! That includes an open heart, an open mind, and more time for cooking and crafting so I can surround her with homemade goodness! :)
Happy New Year to everyone!
Absolutely love your work. So charming! I would be a happy chappy if I won that goodie package! Happy New Year! And thanks to Angela DiTerlizzi for letting her friends know about your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway! My resolution is to enter more giveaways - just kidding. :) Actually, it's to draw and paint more. Love your work!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful blog and a lot of inspiration ... One of my resolutions is: take my brushes and paint once more, knit more, sew more and enjoy the colors of life!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for this New year!
Oooo whats the secret thing?!?! :D
ReplyDeleteWow...good thing I'm visiting blogs tonight, I got in just under the wire! I appreciate your remarks, especially about being more of an introvert. It's funny, isn't it? I'll bet a lot of us creative types feel the same way, and yet here we are chatting away. People who think that the Internet is cold and impersonal are just plain wrong! Happy, happy new year, Brooke! I look forward to many future visits!
ReplyDeleteWoah, that's a big & beautiful giveaway package. I should comment more - I always enjoy reading your posts and seeing your lovely work. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI adore your illustrations! I was just introduced to this blog by a friend of mine and will be sure to be a regular reader from now on! I am keeping my fingers crossed...
